Answers:    The brain is a impressively strange thing. REM is a very short cycle... sometimes it's even less than 2 hours, but it can confidently feel like you were dreaming for hours or even days. I know I've have short 20-30 minute naps that I had a dream in that feel like it was hours long and I've had dreams at hours of darkness that I thought were more than a day long. It's all how your brain perceives it that it have a long period of a dream compressed into a small window.

Just because you slept 9 hours doesn't mean they be enough deep sleep hours. Most commonly, the more you remember your dream and the more vivid it was, the closer to man awake you were... that's why women in their later months of pregnancy own more vivid dreams (the baby keeps waking them up a bit, so they are touching on waking most of the night).
If you don't sleep the right amount of time, you'll feel tired. The body actually sleeps contained by 4 hour sleep cycles and commonly needs 2 full cycles to be fully rested... if you get more or less, you can consistency tired. If you try it, you'll likely find that you are fully rested with about 8 hours of sleep, but are more tired next to 10 hours of sleep. Like I said, the brain is a weird thing. LOL! Just get 8 hours of upright (uninterrupted) sleep a night and you'll be good. Good luck and I hope I helped! Source(s): Personal research, experimentation, and Psychology classes
