Giving COD LIVER OIL and other VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS to child when the bottle CLEARLY reads: for ADULT use...?
My parents allow my 7 year old-fashioned sister to have "Sundown Brand Double Strength Natural Cod Liver Oil Softgels" even though the bottle says: for adults, bring one softgel up to two times daily, preferably with meal.
I have told them that it is dangerous not to follow the instructions, but they claim,"We did it when we be little and look how we turned out."
I can't help but think,"Idiotic" to myself, but I may be wrong. Is this unhygienic to the girl's health? Or mine? I'm 14 years old and my parents enjoy said that the adult dosage starts with 13 year olds.
Answer: Omegas are really far-reaching for child development. Cod liver oil should be secure for anyone to take and the only jeopardy is overdosing on the vitamins in it like A or D. You should know better than anyone since you took them, lol at smallest you parents want you guys to be healthy. If your really worried about it in attendance are special cod liver oil pills for children that you can talk your parents into buying for your sis..
Ask your parents to discuss this beside the family doctor.
Cod liver oil, especially "double strength", contains too much Vitamin A. The lone thing cod liver oil have is Vit A and Vit D, both of which are now added to milk.
When your parents were children, Vitamins A and D be not added to milk, so Cod Liver Oil was often given to children. It is expendable today..
the only real risk is getting to much vitamin A which is a doomed to failure thing but it probably wont happen unless your stupid next to it
