It really is just an intense high.. It is zilch like the media portrays it to be. I think it is safe if controlled and in low doses (such as maybe 2 or 3 hits). It is a really amazing drug, but it is non addictive. It has be 6 months since i have done it and plan to do it again but have no cravings or feelings of obligation for it. Not something to be scared of or freak out, just don't do it if you aren't in the right frame of mind.
