It happens to me after I haven't smoked a cigarette for a while, anything from a 4 hour gap causes a rush to my guide and fingers and toes. It is something that you shouldn't aim to get after each cigarette because as you start to smoke them more often this disappears, and you smoke more to try and take the rush. It is not advisable to continue smoking as you will become addicted and it's very difficult to stop.

I am not suggesting you're experiencing a placebo effect, but I am thinking the light headed feeling associated beside smoking was unintentionally exxagerated.
