I have anxiety disorder. Any natural suggestions to make it better?
Answer: Bach's Rescue Remedy is good for anxiety attacks.
St. John's Wort, Melissa, Passionflower, Chamomile, Valerian and Lavender have adjectives been shown to be helpful for more generalized anxiety.
Make secure you're getting enough calcium and b-vitamins, and of course, avoid caffeine and nicotine.
Good luck..
The awfully first thing you should do is *STOP* drinking coffee if you do. Nothing is worse for anxiety than caffeine. If you really want to get rid of your anxiety next you will also abstain from these foods -- chocolate, caffeinated teas, and colas.
Consider taking KAVA. This is an over the counter herbal supplement that is natural relaxant. It is also a nonaddictive alternative to anxiety-busting prescriptive medicine.
Do 'not' take if you have a history of liver problems or drink alcohol regualrly..
My Dr. put me on Ativan for anxiety but I prefer a fluent approach compared to chemicals.
My health food store suggested Holy Basil (Name of product) which is formulated for anxiety and also helps contained by other areas too. I have noticed a great restructuring in my anxiety and energy level that I didn't get with Ativan which Ativan did put together me drowsy. It isn't supposed to but I have an abnormal criticism to chemicals. I suffer from anxiety occasionally too. It causes spikes in my blood pressure so for that foundation only, I went on a Beta Blocker to control that issue. I also enjoy Ativan, but, like you, I prefer to handle things as smoothly as possible. The Beta Blocker helped my anxiety quite a bit because it slows the adreneline flow and your heart rate. But here are some other more innate things that I have done that have also help me quite a bit:
* I read and re-read The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook by Dr. Bourne - it's excellent and all-inclusive on this subject
* I incorporated regular exercise into my day - again, directing that excess adreneline into something more productive
* One word: dream therapy
* I got connected - or, rather- reconnected to my church and daily prayer and reading of inspirational passage is very helpful to me. If that's not your entry, maybe something spiritual like meditation
*Vitamins: B complex, C, Flax Oil, Magnesium, Calcium, Garlic, and a multi
* Apple Cider Vinegar as a supplement - 2 tsp 3 x per afternoon mixed with a little melt water and baking soda. Do a google on ACV - you'll be amazed. Definitely made a difference.
* I read inspirational non-fiction stories of people who have overcome tremendous adversitites and now had positive outlooks on go. A good one is "Eat, Pray, Love" and "90 Minutes in Heaven".
* Journaling out the ambience I was having be helpful. Keeping them hidden and inside be a big source of anxiety for me.
* lastly, I eliminated all forms of caffiene - everything! I one and only drink tea now. Chamomile mostly. Someone else on here said that it's very beneficial and they are right.
Good luck to you. I still jump through anxious periods occasionally and it sucks but now it's mostly when I stop doing one or two of the above things. As long as I hold on to us these habits, it pretty much stays away. I hope this helps and I hope you find nouns soon..
sorry, but it is REALLY all up to changing the passageway you deal with anxiety, surrounded by your mind. studies show that if you start breathing exercises when you feel anxiety coming on, you can avoid a panic attack. you requirement to be aware of yourself, and talk yourself down, and learn breathing exercises.
as far as anything else...along next to being aware of your mentality, drinking tea can help - really, any genus is good, but especially chamomile or valerian teas..

St. John's Wort...While this is not a powerful drug, in the sense that it won't bring you a quick taking back, but it does have excellent long-term results. Nevertheless, studies have proven that if a personality is suffering from mild to moderate depression taking a minimum of 300mg of St. Johns Wort, three times a day, will dramatically help a character. Other studies have shown that 1800 mg per day is more successful. Either way, this is equivalent to taking between 0.4 and 2.7 mg of an antidepressant medication daily.
However, if you are on other medication (i.e. cancer drugs, HIV drugs, or contraceptive pills), you will need to check with your doctor prior to taking St Johns Wort since this herb can strongly interact beside these other medications. For instance, one type of reaction that you may encounter is skin sensitivity when you are contained by the sun. Therefore, when taking this supplement you should stay out of the sun as much as possible.
Valerian is good too and you can buy it surrounded by a tea (tastes terrible to me)... but is often used as a sleep aid so may put together you drowsy.
