I consider i might hold an below involved thyroid. Looking for a colloquial supplement to serve.?
I had my thyroid checked but my doctor says its fine. Thyroid disease runs in my inherited. my symptoms are: sluggishness, sometimes hard to focus, hard to lose weight unproblematic to gain weight, i have slightly high testosterone, lots of facial curls, low libido, low hdl (50), acne mostly on back and shoulders but some facial and some cystic, i have been diagnosed near slight Pcos but i dont have most of the symptoms, i sleep alot and i have a low temperature.
I am looking for a instinctive supplement i could take and see if it would help. I cant take most vitamins because they mete out extreme stomach discomfort. I was thinking i would need something herbal or homeopathic.
Answers: If your stomach can tolerate sea kelp later try that. Sea kelp is full of iodine that your thyroid gland needs for functioning.
You could also take the aryuvedic herbs Withania somnifera (ashwaganda) and Commiphora mukul (Guggul gum). The latter could also hang on to your LDL cholesterol at optimum levels and help you lose some weight if to be precise also what you are looking for.
Agnus castus might help with the PCOS as it works at the level of the pituitary gland to relieve balance out the hormones. Another herb worth taking is Saw palmetto to help with testosterone excess as it have some anti-androgenic properties. Also, drink lots of mint tea as it has been shown in Turkish studies to sustain reduce hirsutism in women.
These aren't vitamins so hopefully you can tolerate most of these. But I would start off near introducing only one or two at a time. Start with the Sea kelp and mint tea and see how you get along near those. If you are OK then maybe introduce Agnus castus.
Do bare within mind that you will need to talk to your doctor first though if you are on prescribed medication before taking herbal supplements. Don't embezzle Agnus castus if you are on the pill as it would interfere with its functioning. Agnus castus may help boost libido. It is a known fertility booster so do showing that in mind if you decide to try it.
Get your thyroid hormone levels checked regularly because even if everything is OK immediately in view of the family history and your symptoms it would be learned to keep your thyroid function monitored. You may be near borderline. Hopefully one or more of these supplements will help beside your symptoms.
Hope this helps.
