Inostle side effects...?
Has anyone taken Inostle? Have you have side-effects other than GI stuff? A friend took a low dose for only two weeks and begin experiencing a metal/dry taste in mouth and tingling and stomach-ache in hands and foot. Gone to doctor and tests done...not B12, iron or sugars. Any ideas?
Answer: A defect in Zinc will cause loss of weakness ..... perhaps increasing her intake of foods rich in Zinc will wipe out the tacky taste contained by her mouth
ie ~ meat, liver, seafood (particularly oysters), wheat germ, pumpkin seeds, eggs and brewer's yeast.
Excessive sweating can cause a loss of zinc Oh, over consumption of grain and legumes (peas, beans and lentils) will inhibit the absorption of zinc too The phytates in them bind near the zinc and stop it being absorbed
You should nick inositol in conjunction with the other B complex of vitamins as they work best as a undamaged complex ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12 folate etc...
hope this helps a bit

According to PDRHealth.com, Inositol has the following catalogue of side effects:
"Stop taking your medicine right away and talk to your doctor if you own any of the following side effects. Your medicine may be causing these symptoms which may imply you are allergic to it.
-Breathing problems or tightness in your throat or chest
-Chest pain
-Skin hives, over-hasty, or itchy or swollen skin"
If she had that taste when she took it, that's to some extent unusual for a low dose, but it could be an allergic reaction or a sensitivity to it... the tingling is listed as a more feasible side effect (although all of those are rare).
The best way to find out if that's it is to do for a moment test. stay away from Inositol for a few days of no metallic taste or tingling, consequently take a single Inositol pill to see if she gets the reaction.
