Is Kava Kava still banned in the UK.?

or is it presently possible to buy the tincture in health shops. I can't buy on file as I have problems with the post. Also have anybody tried growing the plant or making the tincture? Where can I buy the seeds?

Answer:    I think so yeah. I work at holland and barratt and surrounded by our books it says its banned..
In January 2003 the U.K goverment along beside all the other European Governments placed a complete ban on the mart, possession for sale, offer, exposure or trailer for sale, and the importation into England from outside the UK, of any food consisting of, or containing, kava kava. Put simply it is an offence to buy or supply kava. However possession of the items does not seem to be a offence

The drive for the ban on Kava kava is that in irregular cases the use of products containing kava kava (mostly in the form of herbal medicines) has be associated with severe liver damage.

So any products media hype as Kava are likely fake or alternatives to Kava itself..
I'm not a hundred percent but I presume it's still banned. I might have a look out of interest if anything pops up I'll come backbone and edit my answer. As far as I am aware, yes it is still banned contained by the UK.
