Is there anything to take for anti-anxiety that isn't prescription?


The final several weeks I keep having desperate anxiety attacks at night and it keeps me up adjectives night. The last two night I was exhausted and tired but was incompetent to actually fall asleep until close to 5 AM. Before this started taking place, I was usually asleep around midnight. The only article that has worked so far is nicotine but going through several packs a week is getting expensive. I've tried melatonin and double doses of valerian root, the melatonin get me tired, but I'm still kept awake from the anxiety and the valerian root didn't do anything. Aside from prescriptions is there anything else that helps next to it? I don't have a regular doctor and it would probably look suspicious going into a walk-in clinic asking questions around Valium and similar drugs. So, is there anything else I could try? I'm starting a new employment tomorrow so I need to get it lower than control soon.

Magnesium deficiantcy is a strong possibility. But not the only possibility.
Do you get through anything shortly before bedtime ? Stop.
Maybe a food allergy. Stop eating ; eggs, peanuts, dairy products, white flour products ( Wheat glutton) and plainly sugar in any form. for a week and see if this improves.
You didn't mention any throbbing. are you having any ? this may be a factor.
Chamomile tea helps some walk to sleep but it is a mild sedative..
Cutting caffeine and sugar will help, but here is so much more you could do. Fruits, veggies, are just good for overall strength and nutrition, which might help reduce stress.

I think most of the natural things hold been covered so here is another thing you can do. Get out nearby and walk,hike.Do this a min of 5 times a week.This alone works wonders.Also it sounds approaching there is something nagging or worrying you? Have you put to much on your self? lastly try God,he is receptive to you if you ring out to him. Best of luck. My daughter has bad anxiety attacks, and they be really bad at night. I sent her some Melatonin. It's over the counter, and cheap! They are 3mgs. She take one about a 1/2 hour before bedtime. She sleeps really okay, and the night anxiety attacks are gone, she says.

Think give or take a few trying it. What do you have to loose, but anxiety? She says she feel like a new individual, well rested each morning.

I dont feel any of that herbal stuff really works. I think what works, outside of presciptions, is meditation. you have to swot to control your own mind, cause thats what anxiety is caused by. you are pushing stressful duration issues out of the way but even though they are not at the forefront of your mind, your brain doesn't really recognize this. and formerly you know it, you're freakin out out of nowhere and wondering why. I know, I've been there. after you think you're dying, blah blah blah. it sucks. you feel resembling it will never end but it will if you take the time to rid yourself of it. what i widely read to do is each morning for 15 minutes or so, talk to myself, tolerate myself know that life is not perfect, who care if something doesnt go the way I want it to- i'm not gonna die! later i breathe slowly and deeply, pushing my stomach out as I inhale and pulling it in as I exhale. Eventually I won! unsurprisingly, occasionally i get the initial feeling of the lighheadedness, lump contained by my throat but I breathe through it and tell myself to quit acting like a weirdo,and my brain in actual fact listens. good luck
