Jasmine Oolong tea benefits?

Does anyone know if Jasmine Oolong tea is bad for your kidneys?
Answers:    IF you have kidney problems already it is not good to drink plentifully of tea. Tea has tannins in it and they turn into tannic acid within boiling water. Tannins have an astringent affect on the kidneys. Add sugar and you're asking for infection and/or inflammation.

Never, EVER boil tea, as this brings out those nasty tannins. Oolong should be brewed lone 3 to 4 minutes in just boiled water, even if one doesn't own a kidney disorder.

If you love Jasmine Oolong and are having trouble, try brewing it cold. Put the tea and water in the refrigerator overnight, surrounded by a closed container. Strain out the herb and then warm the tea if desired. Jasmine is a calming herb. Tea--black, green, or oolong--has strength benefits if it is not overdone.

If you suspect your kidneys are already adversely affected, leave off the oolong for a few weeks and drink Dandelion root tea (raw or roasted--both are yummy) several times a hours of daylight to help eliminate toxins. Then reintroduce the oolong slowly and see how you do.

Oolong tea contains a host of antioxidants that contribute to a host of health benefits. The jasmine contributes to a soft, flowery flavoring for the oolong tea.

However, oolong tea also contains amounts of oxalic acid that may contribute to the formation of kidney stones if the tea is taken in huge amounts.

So you might want to just pocket moderate amounts of jasmine oolong tea. After all, everything should be taken in moderation. Source(s): http://www.teabenefits.com
