Natural Help next to Depression?

I know exercise helps, but what if you can't shut your brain off to sleep at night and conclude up staying awake all night? I haven't found a drug yet that help with the depression enough to endure the side effects most drugs own. Any more natural remedies to help with depression, anger, anxiety, etc? I don't want my kids to remember mom self angry and having a short temper all the time.

I also don't want to steal drugs to make me relax enough to fall asleep or hold a glass of wine every night. There must be something!
Answers:    My antidepressant side effects were AWFUL and I requested that my doc endow with me something natural (at the time I didn't know how 'anti' natural doctors are)...lol..and he said NO! Stay on the AD. I never saw him again...and began looking contained by to alternatives...I went to a vitamin shop asking for SAMe and they said their customers had significantly better results with this...

I never have another side effect again and felt normal in a few days. It be a miracle. I am no longer in need of it too!!

If you have trouble beside sleep...consider melatonin..it's natural and rocks! I take sublingual.put one under my tongue at dark and I get a full night's sleep!

GOOD LUCK! ;)

What cause tryptophan defect?

Take a B vitamin complex. B vitamins are used by the body to make both serotonin and melatonin, so your mood and sleep pattern will see reorganization.
I had a lot of issues with drug side effects to treat depression, as capably. Since I started on a B-50 complex, I've been feeling MUCH better.

If you can't find anything natural that help, one drug you might try is trazodone. My friend takes 25mg to sleep at night since she has matching "brain won't turn off at night" problem. It helps her a lot, lacking any side effects. It's an old anti-depressant that used to be given in massive (i.e. 500mg+) doses, so it might be something to look into, as well?

ETA: Sad to see that so plentiful people have issues with their doctors and untaught cures. My doctor is totally supportive of trying herbals and vitamins, given how badly I react to a lot of drugs.

Thanks for reminding me, as this is also a condition I own to deal with lately. I just fell into my turpor and not intuition well. But seeing your question in print reminds me of this: I used to dance hiking on steep uphill every other day at least. It was truly a raw drug for wellbeing. I must do it again. Make time for yourself (and I will do the same for me). Hope it helps!! Source(s): My own experience

Yes, you're right that exercise can help, but there is so much more. If you can't "shut your brain off" at hours of darkness, it may be more of a sleep issue than a depression issue... normally, the Serotonin that your body produces at night is enough to stillness that. Have you tried taking Melatonin or other natural sleep aids at night? Also, I'm not sure if it's an issue, but I would stay away from any caffeine, sugar, and exercise for at least 3 hours beforehand bed time, too... I know that helps me fall asleep easier.

As far as things for depression, some of the most popular natural products for helping near mood are St. John's Wort, SAMe, 5-HTP (or Tryptophan), Rhodiola Rosea, and some stress-relievers like GABA or L-Theanine can help, too.
Aside from supplements, you can also try going out and doing things you enjoy, spending time beside friends, or even having a good cry. If that's not enough to back, maybe talking it out with a trusted friend or an aim third-party person (like a counselor).
Just remember, even though you might feel bad, it's never as unpromising as it may feel. Everyone goes through tough times and we can all catch through it... sometimes we just need a little extra relieve ;-) Good luck and I hope I helped!
