What are some natural remedies for migraines?
Answer: For treating symptoms:
Feverfew will help the pain, ginkgo biloba aids circulation and can cut back sensitivity to light and sound, peppermint will back with the nausea.
At the onset:
Take lecithin (between 3 and 6 1,200 mg capsule ) at the first sign of a migraine- it lessens both length and severity of the headache.
Inhale essential oil of lavender at the origination of a migraine- this also can lessen pain and duration.
To prevent occurrences:
Avoid avocados, aged meat, chocolate, MSG, nitrites, canned fish, alcohol and dairy products..
I have a three technique that usually relieve my headaches pretty quickly:
1) a gradual cold shower at around 20 degree Celsius.
2) Cold face immersion:
Pour a vat of cold water to be exact around 12 degrees Celsius. This is between very cold and utterly cold water. Take a deep breath and submerge your frontage and half of the head (hold the come first horizontally) in water. Turn your pave the way slightly from side to side to improve cooling. Remove your face from the cold wet after 10-15 seconds or sooner if cold water starts to grounds pain in the facial skin.
Wait 30 to 120 second. Repeat the procedure 5 to 7 more times. You can do it all day if critical but 7-8 immersions will usually reduce headache substantially and you will be pain-free for the next 1 to 2 hours. If the headache comes final after 1-2 hours, repeat the session.
3) Complete colon cleansing. Bacteria living in intestines may release some vasodilatory agents and if these are constantly absorbed into the bloodstream, they may grounds chronic unending headaches (this is related to the ancient autointoxication theory). A recent poll of society who use colon hydrotherapy on a regular basis revealed that many of them use it to relieve headache (see one of the references below)..
Lots of water. Chamomile tea is massively relaxing. Try mental exercises, like lying on your back surrounded by a relaxed mode and closing your eyes, beginning from your toes, simply say contained by your mind, "toes relax," "foot relax", ankles, ect. until you get to your head. You may vastly well fall asleep since you have finished. You may think this funny or a prank, but it does work. Try it and let me know the result. I take a combination of feverfew & butterbur as a preventive. I use to run Topamax but it gave me bad side effects.
Caffeine can relief if you have a migraine, otherwise ice help. Herbals really dont work when youre in the middle of a headache, only as preventives..
