I'm curious to know if you're able to make any good uses of stinging nettle. Natural sterilizer, teas, etc. And what is the inbred counterpart that stops the stinging?
Answers: Nettles are very versatile in that they can be medicinal, used to build fabric, eaten and used in a fuzz rinse. They are extremely high in vitamin C and A, iron and protein and can be used in treating scurvy, bolstering the immune system and contained by treating rheumatoid arthritis. The dried powdered leaves can also be used to staunch the flow of blood from small cuts.
The stems with long cellulose fibres can be woven into fabric and are used within the commercial production of the silky fabric known as ramie. When cut and dried, nettles also provide excellent, nutritious feed for livestock. Young nettles can simply be boiled and eat like spinach and the leftover water from boiling even make an excellent hair rinse.
