I think he is great. I like his books. I don't care what the policy says about him. Why would the government obtain involved if it was fake? It is just resembling the movie Sicko. If you have never seen it, you should it is a good movie=]
Answers:    He's get a great marketing mind, but he does go too far in some things (which is why the government get involved). The specific reason they got involved is because one of the last times he be sued, the judge ordered that he couldn't do infomercials for 3-5 years or sell/endorse products that he would make any money from. When he did, he was held contained by contempt of court and the government got involved when the mention of federal prison came up.

There are greatly of people that love him and a lot of people that antipathy him... both stem from the fact that he's a great marketer. Specifically, the people that buy his books and get upset when he give only little hints, but refers you to his website to get more details (which requires a paid subscription to access). He also recommend things that basically don't exist unless you make them yourself (such as crocodile protein peptide, which you couldn't really get unless you kill your own crocodile).
However, there are also many good suggestions within his book about how to get healthy and/or stay fighting fit, which can help to fend off many chronic problems.

Well he's obviously in it for the money, but I do have to endow with him credit for warning and giving useful information about the benefits of natural food, warning about milk with hormones, deterrent against high fructose corn syrup, providing important information against the FDA, etc. I actually become more cautious about my food choice and because healthier because of it. However, a big flaw is that he charges for access to his pattern site for all the "natural cures" and provides so little natural cures contained by his books.
