It sounds gross, but it's literally just spraying a liquid (typically water) up your butt through a tube that's inserted. They are used to verbs out the colon, but judging from that post you quoted, it sounds like they may use them for other purposes contained by addition to cleansing.

The above answers are quite biddable. I might add that I knew a doctor whose heading was Moore. The other doctors would call him enema Moore because he would present an enema instead of doing surgery on folks with problems with appendix.
There are a little good reasons for an enema, but short some experience or training or a medical practitioner at hand, it might be better not to try it.
