What is best brand of hearing aid?
Answer: really it depends on your needs as far as hearing, and as much as they are hyped miracle ear does a pretty polite job, but this is something that I would discuss with my doctor AND and audiologist..
There are the "big 6" manufacturer: Phonak, Widex, Siemens, GN Resound, Starkey and Oticon. If you stay with those major brands you will capture a quality product. Also, not all dispensers are audiologists--make sure you look at their credentials. Most of the above brands are not sold contained by "retail" hearing aid stores, but instead through audiologists. Ask your primary care doctor for the name of some good audiologists in your nouns, or check with your insurance if they have "preferred providers" for audible range related services. You can also try www.hearingplanet.com. I would agree that you should consult an Audiologist. Apparently there are many manufacturer of hearing aids and each businessman has many models. I am researching matching thing for myself and I am coming to the conclusion that it may be best to just find an Audiologist you trust and achieve a 2nd opinion also. I found my information at these two links: http://hearinganddizziness.com/faq/ and also at http://jama.ama-assn.org/cgi/reprint/284...
