What is the best thing for nasal congestion & safe while pregnant?
Answer: Both the answers above mine are correct and almost the same. Saline solution or the nose douche is simply brackish water. You can make the mixture yourself by calculation salt to water until the mixture taste salty. This works in equal way salt works contained by cooking. For instance, when making eggplant parmesean, you sprinkle the eggplant with salt and put pressure on it. The saline draws the water (moisture) out of the eggplant. Anyway, a saltwater nasal spray works in alike way. You spray it into your nose and the brackish water DRAWS the moisture (mucous) out of your nasal cavaties.
You can also put a towel over your head while lifeless it (your head) over a bowl of steaming water. This will loosen up the mucous.
There's not much else you can do while pregnant..
The neti pots are a great reccommendation. At my spa, we use a facial massage focused on the areas of the sinuses and around the eyes (You can even roast up some small, smooth stones on a heating pad -test them inside your wrist for temperature- and rub with them for extra relief) followed by a couple of layers of washcloths that own been dipped in hot marine and 2-3 drops of eucalyptus oil and a couple of hand towels to maintain the heat in a bit- be sure to depart from a little opening at the feeler to breathe. That really helps! A technique I learned from an intuitive healer and that other works for me is to press gently on the lower (just above the gumline), then mid sinuses (about a finger length above, beside the nose), then lower sinus again. Move then to the sinuses above the eyebrow, mid sinus again and lower sinus again consequently the back of the head at the lower margin of the skull. At each of these points, imagine you are looking at the hindmost of a spine and mentally send a burst of light to that spine. I know it sounds complicated but it's in reality quick and easy when you do it and get faster every time and, because it always works, it's a great trick to learn. I can clear my sinuses contained by less than a minute- though they sometimes fill spinal column up quickly and I have to use it a couple of times for long-term relief. Good Luck! Try steam. Boil water and breath within steam, but don't put your face too close to the water. Be markedly careful! You could get a amazingly bad burn if you get too close. Lean within just close enough to have a feeling the warmth of the steam entering your nose..
From the website: Some relations call neti pots a "nose bidet." It is used to flush out the sinuses and be recently featured on the Oprah Show. they own over the counter saline stuff. You can use it as a nasal irrigation, or just squirt it up there. Make sure the sticky label says it's just saline.
