Whats the best way to get rid of a cold sore fast w/o any medications?
Answer: Right when u feel the tingle sensation warning u of an upcoming sore hold an rime cube on it. this will freeze it. Then put a hot tea bag on it. The tea is natural prescription for cold sores. I think it's the antioxidants in it or something. You could try putting any hot or cold compress on it too. I resembling to keep a warm washcloth on it. It will verbs the blister. Honestly, abreva works the best. If you keep abreva on it it will heal faster. But you might try something cheaper close to blistex or carmex. That might help. Just keep the sore "wet" by keeping blistex on it. Like I said I usually use abreva and it go away within a couple days so I don't try blistex or carmex. Good luck! Hope these remedies help!.
peroxide is amazing it forces oxygen into the sore and promotes faster therapeutic. and in the future if you surface one coming on keep putting peroxide on it or on a cotton swab and hold it there and it will stop it past it comes ahahhahahahahahahahhahahah..... best way is not to touch it, i just get rid of a cold sore a few days ago and by not touching it, it only lasted just about a week, b4 when i had one and touched it and i had it for over a month. verbs it with a wash cloth and soap but try not to rub it to intricate.......w/o any medications.
For over the counter meds, the thing that works best for me is taking L-Lysine supplements, and using Campho-Phenique (with drying action). This have worked better for me than any prescription and MUCH better than Abreva, which is about 5x more expensive.
To treat a sore without ANY medication (even OTC meds), wrap some rime in a paper towel and hold it on the sore until the entire rime cube melts. I've also heard that aloe can back with the pain, although it doesn't catch rid of the sore.

Ice it on and off all daytime. This will take down the swelling. It hurts when you first apply the ice, but after a couple of minutes, it will be numb. You must hold the rime on for at least 10 minutes and do it often through the morning. Blistex. There are many types out now, but the one contained by the white tube with the red stripe around the base of the tube is the best. I enjoy used it for cat scratches, cold sores, and zits, it works very hasty for me. If you do decide to use ice, never ever ever exit it on for more than 15 minutes. Doing so can kill the healthy skin cell surrounding the sore creating more of a problem than you started with, and it also slows blood flow, which keeps the nutrients needed to treat from getting to the area..
